Sundown on the GodsOctober 05, 2013 |
Stepped out side of my house last weekend to an amazing sunset during a thunderstorm. I grabbed my gear and ran up on a hill (most of the lightning was in the distance), set my camera on a tripod and focused on the storm just as it started raining on me. I quickly set my shutter speed to 1/3 of a second so as to increase my chances of catching lightning and set my intervalometer to take a shot every second.

Steel wool, a full moon, the red rocks of Southern Utah and the last Wheel of Time on audiobook make for a great picture.
Once I hiked out to the location I found that the battery's in my remote were dead so I ended up having to scramble up the rock during the 10 second timer... And then run down and put out 2 fires one on each side of the rock. Fun times. Glad I brought water.
